Joyce Horton is an employee with State of Tennessee Treasury Division and serves as a Pre-Retirement Counselor. She joined the State in June of 2013 and graduated from University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management/Administration in 2015. Joyce is a board member with Community A.L.E.R.T. (Alliance for Learning, Educating, Recruiting and Training) organization since the early 1980’s. This organization is a 501(c)3 whose mission is to advocate and serve the underserved school age children and parents. She has been blessed to have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Her faith in God is first and foremost in her life, which sustained her during the unfortunate disabling condition of her husband of 40 years. She began her journey as a care-giver more than 20 years ago, which led her to the Respict Coalition Program which is line with her mission to be a laborer across someone’s path.
